How do I know I'm getting a fair price for my coins?

Simple: get your best offer anywhere else first, then bring it to us. We'll beat it by a substantial margin. We've been doing this for 50+ years and our 500+ Google reviews speak for themselves. We're PCGS, NGC, CACG & CAC authorized dealers, which means we understand the true market value of certified coins better than most and all coins in general.

What types of coins do you buy?

Everything: U.S. rare coins, circulated coins as well as PCGS, NGC, CACG, CAC, ANACS & ICG certified coins, Morgan and Peace dollars, pre-1933 gold coins, gold and silver bullion coins, 90% silver, world coins, proof sets, mint sets, paper currency, and entire collections of any size. If it has numismatic or precious metal value, we want to see it and purchase it.

Do I need an appointment to sell coins?

No appointment needed. Walk in during business hours Tuesday - Saturday 10am-5pm. For large collections or if you're traveling a significant distance, calling ahead is appreciated so we can ensure Joe is available.

Will you travel to buy a large collection?

Yes. For significant collections we will come to you, including bank vault visits. Call us at 864-502-0100 to discuss. How do you determine the value of my coins?

We evaluate each coin individually based on its numismatic value, grade, rarity, and current market demand. For precious metal coins, we use live spot prices and our two XRF X-Ray analyzers to verify metal content. For certified coins, we reference current PCGS and NGC population data and recent auction results.

What coins do you have available for purchase?

Our inventory changes constantly as we buy collections every week. Do you sell investment-grade certified coins?

Yes. We specialize in investment-grade certified coins: PCGS, NGC, CACG and CAC graded material in MS65 and above (some lower grade certified also available but mostly for key dates). We can advise you on building a numismatic investment portfolio based on your goals and budget. Can I see your inventory online?

You can view a small sampling of our inventory at www.MorganSilverDollars.com. However, not all inventory is kept at our Pendleton Showroom. Call ahead at 864-502-0100 to confirm availability of specific items or set up an appointment to view any particular item so that we can have it available for you.

Do you offer a layaway or hold policy on coins?

Yes. For significant purchases we can work with you on a short-term hold with a deposit. Call us at 864-502-0100 to discuss. We want serious collectors and investors to be able to acquire the coins they want without losing out to another buyer or market movement.

Do you buy and sell at the same time?

Absolutely. Many customers sell us coins from one collection and use the proceeds to buy something from our inventory in the same visit. We are happy to work out a trade or combination deal — just bring what you have and tell us what you are looking for.

Does Clemson Coins and Currency trade?

Yes we do. We will trade your silver for our gold or our gold for your silver. We will also trade rare currency for bullion or bullion for rare currency. We will do whatever it takes to make a deal happen between both parties as long as it's a win win approach for both of us.

Coin Grading

Should I get my coins graded before selling them?

Not necessarily. For common coins, the grading fee may exceed the added value. For potentially rare or high-grade coins, professional grading can significantly increase the price you receive. Bring your coins to us first and we can advise whether grading makes sense for your specific coins.

What does a CAC green bean sticker mean?

A CAC green bean sticker means the coin is solid or premium for its assigned PCGS or NGC grade. CAC-approved coins typically sell for a 10-30% premium over non-CAC coins of the same grade. A gold bean indicates the coin may deserve a higher grade.

What is the difference between a raw coin and a slabbed coin?

A "raw" coin is ungraded and not in a professional holder. A "slabbed" coin has been graded by PCGS, NGC, CACG, or another service and sealed in a tamper-evident plastic holder. Slabbed coins command higher prices because the grade is certified and authenticity is guaranteed.

How long does professional coin grading take?

Turnaround times vary by service level and grading company. Standard PCGS and NGC submissions typically run 4–8 weeks; express tiers can be as fast as a few business days at a higher fee. We can walk you through the submission process and help you choose the right service level for your coins.

Do you buy gold jewelry?

Yes. We buy all types of gold jewelry: rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, broken gold, dental gold, estate pieces, and designer jewelry. We use our XRF X-Ray analyzer to verify exact gold content and pay based on actual purity.

Does it matter if my jewelry is broken or damaged?

Not at all. Broken chains, bent rings, missing stones, we buy all of it by weight. Damaged gold is still gold.

How do you determine what my gold jewelry is worth?

We use our XRF X-Ray analyzer to determine the exact gold content (karat and purity) of your jewelry. We then calculate the melt value based on the current gold spot price. For fine estate or designer pieces, we also consider the collector and resale value, which can be significantly higher than melt value. You always get the higher of the two. Should I sell my gold jewelry to a coin dealer or a pawn shop?

A coin dealer who specializes in precious metals will always pay you significantly more than a pawn shop. Pawn shops are generalists whereas they need to profit on resale across dozens of categories, so they offer low across the board offers. We are specialists. Gold and silver is our business, we know exactly what it is worth, and we pay accordingly. Do you buy sterling silver flatware?

Does a monogram affect the value of my sterling silver?

Yes and No. We buy monogrammed sterling silver at the same price as non-monogrammed pieces. The silver content is what matters most. However, if you have a rare pattern set then a monogram will affect the price. We value them the same as non-monogrammed as we can remove the monogram.

How much is my sterling silver flatware worth?

Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver. The value depends on the total weight and the current silver spot price. A typical place setting weighs 2-4 oz troy.
