Wonderfully centered, great color, beautiful embossing; an exceptional AU note.
The 1934-A $1,000 Federal Reserve Note from the Chicago district (Fr #2212-G) is one of the most sought-after high denomination notes among serious collectors. The PMG 50 EPQ designation confirms both the About Uncirculated grade and the Exceptional Paper Quality — meaning the paper retains its original crispness with no issues that would otherwise limit the grade.
High denomination notes ($500, $1,000, $5,000, $10,000) were officially discontinued in 1969 and are no longer produced. Surviving examples in any grade are scarce; examples with EPQ are genuinely rare.
